DAY 1
Fly to Bahir Dar and explore the dramatic nature of the Blue Nile (Tiss Isat), the longest river in Africa. Overnight in your in Bahir Dar
DAY 2
Morning boat trip on Lake Tana, the 4th biggest lake in Africa and the biggest lake in Ethiopia, to visit the ancient monasteries Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Maryam. Then drive to Gondar (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to visit the Royal enclosure (180 km). Overnight in your hotel in Gondar
DAY 3
Day trip to Simien Mountains National Park, which is registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site for its amazing view point and endemic animals like Gelada babbon and walia Ibex. Overnight in your hotel in Gondar
DAY 4
Fly to Lalibela, the home of rock-hewn churches, which are curved by King Lalibela himself in the 12C, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight in your hotel in Lalibela
DAY 5
Flight to Axum, the ancient city of Ethiopia (a World Heritage Site), where the original Ark of the Covenant resides and the place of beautiful tall, decorated obelisks with the splendid vestiges of the fabled Queen Sheba. Overnight in your hotel in Axum
DAY 6
Drive to Gheralta to visit churches in the sky and have an optional visit of Abune Yemata or Maryam Korkor and Daniel’s prayer room carved on the cliff face of the mountains of Guh. Overnight in your hotel at Hawzen
DAY 7
Day trip to Dallol, Danakil Depression, the lowest and hottest place in the world to spot the miniature hills and bubbling sulfur and the caravans loaded salt blocks (120 m below sea level). Overnight in your hotel in Mekelle
DAY 8
Flight to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to visit the National Museum of Ethiopia to see the 3.2 million-year-old fossil of Lucy Trinity Cathedral, the highest-ranking Orthodox Church, and Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa. In the evening, traditional Ethiopian farewell dinner with traditional dances and departure home in the evening.
